Google Cloud and Tezos Foundation Unite for Web3 Development

Tezos Foundation (the nonprofit organization that is supporting the Tezos Blockchain) announced today a partnership with Google Cloud, which will provide developers tools for deploying blockchain nodes, and building Web3 apps.

Google Cloud, through the collaboration with Tezos, will be able to host the virtual machines that keep blockchains secure, called nodes, so Google Cloud users will have access Tezos’s “corporate baking” program which provides on chain validators. Validators host nodes – virtual machines which keep blockchains safe – that offer a large amount of control for Web3 apps.

The blockchain technology is based on a database that contains blocks of data in an ordered, continuous fashion. These blocks are then linked together to form a chain protected by cryptography. Nodes work by verifying that every transaction is added into a block and keeping a copy. The running of a node allows app developers to have real-time read, write and monitoring transactions added to the blockchain.

Mason Edwards said, “To reach institutional adoption and to create mass-market opportunity, it’s essential that technology is reliable, scalable and secure.” Mason Edwards was the Chief Commercial Officer at Tezos Foundation. The Tezos Blockchain ecosystem will benefit from “synergies”, as well as “accelerated development and innovation”, if it works with Google Cloud.

Google Cloud will also provide support to enterprise developers for developing apps within the Tezos eco-system. Through the Google for Startups Cloud Programme, selected Tezos companies will have access to Google Cloud Credits and Mentorship.

James Tromans said, “At Google Cloud we provide secure and reliable infrastructure to Web3 developers and founders so they can innovate and scale up their applications.”

Google Cloud, with its dedicated Web3 team, has released a number of blockchain services, including Node Engine. This service allows developers to install Ethereum nodes. Last year, Google Cloud partnered up with other blockchains, becoming a validater on Solana, Aptos, and several others. Google Cloud has also formed a partnership with Coinbase Global Inc., allowing crypto-payments for Google cloud services.
